Friends of the Library Book Discussion with Author, Lawrence Lewis – in the Niceville Community Center, 204 Partin Drive, on Wednesday, November 16 at 10:30 am. He will be discussing his book, “Buying Cars, Trucks, SUVs, and Vans: amazing secrets to save thousands.” This is a free program. Books will be available for purchase and immediately following the discussion there will be a Booksigning. Please call 279-4863 ext 1504 to reserve a seat.
Baby Bookworms -This lapsit program consists of music, stories and rhymes especially chosen to build the bond between you and your child. Program is suited for children from birth to age 3. Please meet in the Youth Services program room on 2nd & 4th Fridays each month. Prewalkers - 9:30, Walkers up to age three - 10:30. Because the library will be closed the 2nd and 4th Fridays for November holidays, we will meet on a special day; Nov. 18th only.
Author Book Signing @ the Library The Niceville Library will have an author’s book signing starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19. Presenting her new book “Progeny of Lazarus” will be author Johanna Ridenow.
Johanna, started writing on a whim when a series didn’t end the way she thought it should. Encouraged by her friends and family she is writing a sequel.
The library would like to invite everyone to the book signing where you will have a chance to purchase this book and meet the author.
American Girls History Mystery Book Club -This club for girls in 2nd-6th grades will meet the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until noon in the Youth Services program room. Registration is required as space is limited. Girls must sign up in YS for each meeting, check out the book or purchase their own copy, and finish the book before the meeting date. We will meet Nov. 19th, and this month’s book selection is “The Tangled Web: A Julie Mystery” by Kathryn Reiss. Please call 279-4863 x1514.
After School Program - “Catch the Magic School Bus” each month in Youth Services! Children ages 6-12 years old meet the second Tuesday of each month from 4:15-5:30 in the YS program room. Every month the program will focus on a different Magic School Bus book and will include fun facts, hands-on activities, cool science and of course a Ms. Frizzle mystery or two. Children are encouraged to check out related books and are always welcome to share what they’ve read and learned along the way. Space is limited so registration is required. Our Nov. meeting is on the 8th when the Magic School Bus gets “Baked in a Cake.” Please call 279-4863 x1514.
Teen Space-Ages 13-17 - Teen Space Activities: We will be collecting canned/non-perishable foods for Caring and Sharing until Nov.18th. Please bring all food items to the Teen Space. Thursday, Nov. 3 - Game Day (2:00 - 4:00)
